The Association held its AGM after the Championship Show, with the following updates;

Rich Thompson has taken up the position of Chair
Emma James has taken up the position of Vice Chair
Terry O’Neill has stood down from the AHA Committee, and we thank him for his long service and dedication

Whilst we’d provisionally planned to hold the AGM on Sunday 2nd March, along with the exam, both are now postponed. After much consideration, we plan instead to hold the AGM after the Championship Show, at the Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh on 5th May. Apologies for any inconvenience.

The AHA will be holding a breed specific exam in March 2025. This exam supports the current ‘Grandfathering’ route which is due to close in December 2025. Applicants should have a reasonable expectation of meeting the criteria for this exam, ahead of applying. All applications for the exam will be assessed and successful applicants notified by email. Entries for the Open Show being held in conjunction with Driffield Championship Dog Show Society close on the 14th August, so don’t delay !

The schedule and entry form are now available on the 2024 Shows and Events page. Our judge is Russell Mosedale (Knightsbay), and this show is being held in conjunction with Driffield Championship Dog Show Society at Wetherby. Postal entries close on the 7th August and Online entries close on the 14th. There will also be special classes after the main judging, please check the schedule for further details.

Following the AGM today the following positions have been filled;

Susan Rhodes has been appointed as President
Jeff Bulled has been appointed as Vice President
John Garrad has joined the committee

After the AGM we held a confirmation and movement seminar with Hector Heathcote as the speaker, giving a detailed and insightful view on canine construction, which was well received by all in attendance.
